Cyanotype is an incredible 180-year-old alternative photographic process invented by Sir John Herschel. Anna Aktins a botanist used the cyanotype to create illustrations of seaweed.
The classic blue and white color is created when UV (sunlight) reacts with the hand coated surface. Objects such as flowers, feathers and photographic negatives block the light leaving white shapes behind.
